The quality of print
The functions of Brother printers MFC-290C correspond to its price. As for its speed it is not high. The device prints about 15,8 pages/min in draft monoquality and up to 3,2 pages/min in normal quality. You may also use autotuning mode of operation.
Speed checking in printing of colored documents was nearly the same in both variants (unlike HP Officejet J4580 All-in-One which showed worse results in similar texts). The printing speed of the project reached up to 15,5 pages/min. The device may print photos with rational speed. Standard 4x6sm photos are printed for the average 20 sec while A4 format picture is printed for 35,5 sec.
Modern color palette
The color palette is neutral except blue color which is a little oversaturated. Brother MFC-290C wireless ink-jet all-in-one printer has numerous color settings. Thus, printing of documents with the help of automatic paper tuning will lead to different results while printing on photopaper. If you change color palette in photoprint, red color becomes a bit oversaturated but you will have bright photos. This feature of color rendering in some cases may result in too dark shades of violet color while printing of photos and just colored prints.
Tablet scanner
In general there are eight different Brother MFC-290C scanning preinstallations available while using original software. Printer is equipped with it. You may use four of preinstallations directly from the control board. If the scanning resolution is 1200x2400 the device may qualitatively depict small parts of scanned pictures. But while testing some parts were lost and the pictures were not enough saturated in contrast to the original code. It doesn’t affect the documents scanning but it may slightly spoil pictures.
