You can encrypt any kind of information, URL or text. But the fact that you can experiment with design of QR-codes is not so well-known. They can be modified in many ways while preserving readability.
The simplest way to change the design of you QR-code is to bring some licks of color to it. You know, this code doesnt have to be black and white because colors doesnt influence on its readability. So you can vary coloring and use either one color or a combination of several colors. But still there is one rule: you should preserve contrast ratio. In other words you should have fair background and code of dark tints.
Another variant is to add your logo to the QR-code. You may use this code as a background to logos or various images which are connected with your occupation. Apart from that, it will make the code look like a 3D image. You may place your logo or name in the centre of QR-code or wherever you like.
